Dealing With Power Factor

Power factor problems really start when there are a lot of motors on the system.  Harmonics are also a factor in motors, but more so in electronics.  Large houses today have a lot of both.  This is especially compounded with Geo-Thermal heating and cooling systems.  One house we did not long ago had 15 Air Handler units.  Each unit had a compressor built in for cooling and back up heating elements to quicken the response time of the radiant floor heating.  These ...
